Description

Allegrini Valpolicella Classico is a fresh, elegant red from the historic Valpolicella region of Veneto, made to showcase the character of its hillside vineyards. Its bright red-fruit profile and lively balance make it an inviting expression of the region’s classic style.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red in the glass, it opens with aromas of morello cherry and strawberry, lifted by a delicate hint of violet. The palate is medium-bodied, with lively acidity, well-integrated tannins and a smooth, fruit-focused finish, accented by subtle spice. Its freshness and stainless-steel ageing make this a wine to enjoy for its youthful fruit rather than hold for extended cellaring.

Production
The grapes come from hillside vineyards around Fumane, including Monte dei Galli and sites in Sant’Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano. At elevations of 180–280 metres, south-east-facing vines grow in varied clay- and limestone-rich soils, while September temperature shifts help preserve aromatic character and freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested in September, gently crushed and fermented for around nine days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged in steel to retain the precision of its fruit.

Food & Serving
Enjoy with Mediterranean dishes, including tomato-based pasta, grilled vegetables, charcuterie or roast chicken. Serve slightly cool, around 14–16°C. Decanting is generally unnecessary; opening the bottle shortly before serving is enough to let its aromas emerge.

Producer
Allegrini is a renowned Valpolicella producer, and this wine draws on vineyards around Fumane to express the region’s hillside character. The estate combines traditional vineyard practices, such as hand harvesting, with modern climate monitoring and a stated focus on environmental sustainability.
