Description
Adami Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Bosco di Gica Brut is a benchmark Prosecco from one of the region’s most respected growers. Sourced from prime hillside vineyards in the heart of Valdobbiadene, this cuvée offers a beautifully refined, dry sparkling wine with real depth and character. Its combination of Glera with a touch of Chardonnay adds extra finesse, making it a standout choice for both aperitif sipping and food-friendly enjoyment.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Bosco di Gica shows a pale straw-yellow color with silvery highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. The bubbles are delicate yet energetic, creating a lively mousse that’s inviting from the first pour.
The nose opens with fresh green apple, pear and white peach, followed by floral notes of acacia blossom and wisteria, and hints of citrus zest and freshly baked bread. On the palate, it is crisp and dry (Brut), with flavors of crunchy apple, pear, lemon and a touch of stone fruit, layered over a subtle mineral backbone. The Chardonnay component adds a gentle creaminess and a more refined texture, while the finish is clean, vibrant and refreshingly long. Designed to be enjoyed in its youth, this non-vintage Prosecco is at its best within 1–2 years of purchase, when the fruit and freshness are at their peak.
Production
Bosco di Gica is sourced from carefully selected hillside vineyards in Valdobbiadene, one of the most prestigious areas within the Prosecco Superiore DOCG zone in Veneto. The steep slopes, well-drained soils and marked diurnal temperature swings help to preserve aromatics and acidity in the Glera grapes, while Chardonnay brings extra structure and elegance. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal ripeness and careful selection of bunches. After a gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation of the base wine in stainless steel, the second fermentation takes place using the Charmat (Martinotti) method in pressurized tanks. This approach preserves the purity of fruit, delicate floral notes and fine bubbles that define high-quality Prosecco Superiore.
Food & Serving
This Brut Prosecco Superiore is a versatile partner at the table. It pairs beautifully with light appetizers, fresh seafood (think shrimp, oysters, grilled fish), sushi, and simple pasta dishes with vegetables or shellfish. It also works well with delicate cheeses, prosciutto and classic Venetian cicchetti. For optimal enjoyment, serve well chilled at 6–8°C (43–46°F). Decanting is not recommended for Prosecco; simply open and pour into tulip-shaped sparkling wine glasses to concentrate the aromas and showcase the fine perlage.
Producer
Founded in 1920, Adami is widely regarded as one of the leading producers of Prosecco Superiore in Valdobbiadene. Still family-owned and operated, the estate has played a key role in elevating Prosecco from a simple everyday fizz to a world-class sparkling wine with true terroir expression. Adami focuses on high-quality hillside vineyards and meticulous vineyard work, often bottling specific crus to highlight the diversity of the region. Their wines, including Bosco di Gica, consistently receive strong international recognition and are frequently cited as benchmarks for Prosecco Superiore, embodying both the tradition and modern refinement of the Veneto sparkling wine scene.
