Abbazia di Novacella Alto Adige Riesling is a fresh, mineral-driven white wine made from 100% Riesling in the high-altitude vineyards of Trentino-Alto Adige. Grown on the abbey’s sunniest slopes, it combines lively citrus fruit with floral elegance and a persistent, almost salty finish. The surrounding vineyards have produced white grapes for approximately eight centuries, giving this wine a strong connection to the region’s long winemaking tradition.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a bright straw-yellow colour with delicate greenish highlights. Its semi-aromatic nose opens with fresh citrus, followed by expressive vegetal and white-flower notes, including jasmine and wisteria. On the palate, pronounced lemon and lime flavours are supported by striking minerality, vibrant freshness and a supple, well-balanced body. With bottle age, the citrus character can develop towards ripe white peach, while the wine’s persistent, almost saline finish becomes increasingly pronounced. It is enjoyable young, but has the structure and freshness to improve with further bottle ageing.

This Riesling is sourced from the sunny slopes surrounding Abbazia di Novacella in Alto Adige, where the alpine setting helps preserve freshness and contributes to the wine’s distinctive mineral character. Made entirely from Riesling, the grapes are vinified and matured in stainless steel, preserving the variety’s aromatic clarity, citrus precision and lively acidity.
