A lively expression of Bouzeron Aligoté, this 2022 combines floral lift with crisp acidity and a distinctive flinty edge. Bouzeron is closely associated with Aligoté, and the appellation’s rise helped bring renewed attention to the grape in Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
Expect a bright, pale appearance, with floral aromas leading into notes of green apple and flint. The palate is fresh and brisk, balancing crunchy fruit with lively acidity and a subtle mineral impression.
Enjoy it for its freshness in its youth; its balance should also allow it to develop over the next few years.
Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 9–11°C. Its bright acidity makes it a natural match for oysters, shellfish, fresh goat’s cheese, or simply prepared fish. Decanting is not necessary; opening the bottle shortly before serving should be enough.
Producer
Aubert and Pamela de Villaine established their estate in Bouzeron in the 1970s, helping to champion the village and its Aligoté wines. Aubert de Villaine is also known for his association with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and the estate has played a notable role in raising the profile of Bouzeron within Burgundy.
