A & P de Villaine’s 2022 La Fortune is an elegant, fruit-led Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, balancing supple texture with fine structure. It offers a classic expression of the region from a producer renowned for its thoughtful approach to Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in the glass, with inviting aromas of red berries and a subtle, earthy hint of forest floor. The palate is silky and composed, showing fresh red-fruit character and refined structure.
Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool, around 14–16°C. It pairs well with roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes, or pork; decanting is not essential, though a brief airing can help the wine open up.
Producer
Aubert and Pamela de Villaine established their domaine in Bouzeron in the Côte Chalonnaise, where they have helped bring greater recognition to the region’s wines. Aubert de Villaine is also widely known for his association with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and the family domaine is respected for its precise, terroir-conscious Burgundy.
