Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a pale, transparent ruby hue that immediately signals its delicacy rather than its weight. The nose is wonderfully perfumed and lifted, with rose petals, pomegranate, red berries, and a subtle granite-stone edge that gives the wine a cool, tactile energy. On the palate, the wine is all about tension, definition, and length. It feels vertical and mineral-driven, with fine tannins, bright red fruit, and a distinct saline finish that lingers far beyond its light frame. While already expressive, it has the structure and balance to age gracefully for several years, gaining more complexity and nuance over time.

Production
Rozas 1Cru comes from high-altitude mountain vineyards in the Sierra de Gredos, where old Garnacha vines grow on granite soils that naturally limit vigour and sharpen aromatics. The cooler climate and exposed sites encourage slow ripening, helping preserve freshness, fragrance, and a refined structure. Harvest is typically done by hand, and vinification is carried out with a focus on preserving delicacy, site expression, and transparency rather than power.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile red that works beautifully with roast duck, herb-crusted lamb, grilled quail, mushroom dishes, or simply charcuterie and mature hard cheeses. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 14–16°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration can help open up the perfume if the wine is served young.
