Suntory Roku Gin

Suntory Roku is a distinctive Japanese craft gin named after the number six, highlighting six traditional Japanese botanicals harvested in their ideal seasons. Its elegant balance of citrus, floral and lightly spicy notes makes it equally appealing served neat or in a refined gin and tonic.

Aroma & Palate
The aroma opens with bright yuzu citrus, delicate cherry blossom and fresh green tea, complemented by subtle herbal notes. On the palate, Roku is smooth and well balanced, combining gentle sweetness and floral character with the fresh, peppery lift of sansho pepper. The finish is clean, rounded and lightly spicy, with lingering citrus and tea notes.

Distillation & Maturation
Roku is crafted from six Japanese botanicals: sakura flower, sakura leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sansho pepper and yuzu. Each botanical is harvested in its ideal season and distilled separately to preserve its individual character before the components are carefully blended with traditional gin botanicals, including juniper, coriander and orange peel.

Serving Suggestions
Enjoy Roku neat or over ice to appreciate its layered botanical profile. It works particularly well in a gin and tonic with a clean, lightly flavoured tonic and a garnish of fresh ginger or yuzu, and is also an excellent choice for cocktails such as a Japanese-style highball, Martini or Gimlet. Serve chilled or over plenty of ice.

Distillery
Roku is produced by Suntory, one of Japan’s leading drinks companies, founded in 1899 by Shinjiro Torii. The gin is made at the company’s Osaka distillery, where Suntory combines Japanese attention to detail with traditional gin-making expertise. Its name and bottle design both reflect the importance of the number six in the recipe, with the six-sided bottle representing the six signature Japanese botanicals.
