Chateau Pedesclaux Pauillac Fleur de Pedesclaux 2023

Fleur de Pedesclaux is a refined Pauillac red that captures the elegance and depth of Bordeaux’s Left Bank in an especially approachable style. Crafted by Château Pedesclaux, it showcases a Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, bringing together plush fruit, structure, and a polished sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, youthful ruby color with excellent clarity and brightness. The nose opens with inviting notes of pastry, almond, and orange peel, followed by a fresh layer of red fruit that gives the wine lift and charm. On the palate, the wine is supple and generous, with ripe red berry flavors, a smooth mid-palate, and round, velvety tannins that carry through to a long, elegant finish. Its balance and structure suggest it can be enjoyed young for its freshness, while also having the concentration to develop further with a few years of cellaring.

Production
Produced in Pauillac, Bordeaux, Fleur de Pedesclaux reflects the gravelly terroir and classic Left Bank climate that favor finesse, freshness, and structure. The wine is made using gravity-flow vinification without pressing, helping preserve purity and delicacy, alongside cold pre-fermentation maceration to enhance aromatic precision. It then spends extended time in tank before maturing for 12 months, including 30% in new oak barrels.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted or grilled red meats, especially beef, lamb, or duck, as well as mature cheeses that can stand up to its structure and depth. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening it young to allow the aromas and textures to fully unfold.
