The nose opens with ripe blackberry and plum, layered with peppery spice, dried herbs, and a subtle mineral edge that adds lift and complexity. The palate is full-bodied yet beautifully composed, delivering juicy dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a fresh, saline-like line of acidity that keeps everything in balance. Its finish is long, spicy, and focused. While already expressive, it should develop additional complexity over the next 5–10 years, gaining more savory and earthy nuance with time.

Production
The grapes come from the Hillside Vineyard in Barossa Valley, where sandy, gravelly soils help shape a wine of elegance, concentration, and freshness. The fruit was hand-harvested, then spontaneously fermented in open concrete vats to preserve purity and site expression. After fermentation, the wine matured for 20 months in French barriques with only a modest proportion of new oak, and was bottled unfiltered and unfined to retain its authentic terroir character.

This Grenache pairs especially well with lamb, slow-braised beef, roasted game birds, and hearty vegetable dishes with herbs and spice. It also works beautifully with aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening young, to let the aromatics and texture fully unfold.
