Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright golden colour, with an expressive nose of ripe peach, citrus fruit and delicate honeyed tones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and fruit-driven, balancing natural sweetness with lively acidity. A subtle mineral character adds definition, while the finish is long, polished and pleasantly refreshing. This is a beautifully balanced Riesling with the concentration and acidity to develop further in bottle. It can be enjoyed now for its generous fruit and freshness, or cellared for many years as more complex honeyed and mineral notes emerge.

Production
The wine comes from the Kanzemer Altenberg vineyard in Kanzem, in the Saar area of the Mosel region. The Spätlese grapes were carefully harvested by hand in 2017, allowing the fruit to reach the ripeness required for this style while retaining the Saar’s characteristic freshness. As a limited Versteigerung, or auction, bottling, it represents a particularly exclusive selection from the vintage and is offered here in a striking 6-litre bottle.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its combination of sweetness, acidity and mineral freshness makes it an excellent partner for spicy Asian cuisine, rich pâtés, foie gras, blue cheeses and fruit-based desserts; it can also be enjoyed on its own as an after-dinner wine. Decanting is generally unnecessary, although allowing the bottle to breathe briefly after opening may help reveal its full aromatic character.
