Tasca d'Almerita Tenuta Regaleali Nozze d'Oro 2024

Tasca d’Almerita’s Nozze d’Oro is a distinctive Sicilian white that brings together the structure of Inzolia and the aromatic finesse of Sauvignon Blanc. Created in 1984 to mark Count Giuseppe Tasca’s golden wedding anniversary, it has become a signature wine of the historic Regaleali estate.

Tasting Notes
The bouquet combines apple, peach and honey with hints of citrus, white flowers and mineral notes. On the palate, ripe fruit meets refreshing acidity, leading to a satisfying finish of mature yellow fruit. Aged on fine lees and rested in bottle before release, Nozze d’Oro is made to develop gracefully and is noted for its ageing potential.

Production
The grapes come from Regaleali’s hillside vineyards in the Contea di Sclafani area of inland Palermo, where a continental climate and strong sun exposure encourage full ripening. Inzolia grows at around 500 metres on clay and limestone soils, while Sauvignon Blanc is planted at elevations of up to 700 metres in sandy soils with a saline layer. The varieties are harvested separately between late August and September, then fermented at low temperature in stainless steel for around 15 days. The wine matures on fine lees before spending several months in bottle.

Food & Serving
Try it with vegetable-led dishes, seafood or a selection of cheeses. Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, to bring its fresh acidity and aromatic detail into focus. Decanting is not necessary; opening the bottle shortly before serving should allow its aromas to emerge.
