Description

Sine Qua Non’s 2023 Grenache Distenta V is a rich yet finely balanced California red, with Grenache at its heart and smaller proportions of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Muscat and Petit Manseng. Its combination of expansive fruit, silky texture and mineral detail makes it a distinctive expression of the winery’s Rhône-inspired style.

Tasting Notes
Dark and inviting, the wine opens with macerated dark cherries, blood orange and lavender, followed by notes of spice, graphite, crushed stone and gravel. On the palate, a fuller, more expansive feel is held in focus by fine tannins, whole-cluster spice and a silky texture, with an elegant, persistent finish.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C, ideally after allowing the wine to breathe. Decanting for about an hour should help its aromas unfold. Try it with roast lamb, grilled beef, slow-cooked dishes or savoury mushroom preparations.

Producer
Founded in California in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl, Sine Qua Non is known for its distinctive Rhône-inspired wines and highly individual approach. The winery has become one of California’s most sought-after producers, with each release reflecting a strong sense of craft and identity.
