Description
Ruinart Brut Magnum is a refined expression of the oldest established Champagne house, founded in 1729, offering the kind of elegance and depth that has made Ruinart a benchmark for Chardonnay-led Champagne. In magnum format, it gains extra poise and freshness, making this non-vintage cuvée especially appealing for entertaining or cellaring.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a luminous golden hue with a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with ripe pear, apricot, and white flowers, then moving into notes of brioche, almond, and a subtle toasty edge.
On the palate, it is round and generous, yet beautifully balanced by a mineral freshness and a silky mousse. The finish is long, creamy, and composed, with enough structure to age gracefully for a few more years, especially in magnum where evolution tends to be slower and more graceful.
Production
Ruinart Brut Magnum is crafted in Champagne, France, from a classic blend dominated by Chardonnay, supported by Pinot Noir and a smaller proportion of Pinot Meunier. The grapes are sourced from the Champagne region’s chalk-rich terroirs, which help preserve tension, finesse, and the signature mineral character of the wine. As a non-vintage cuvée, it is assembled from multiple harvests to ensure consistency, balance, and the house style of freshness and elegance.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is wonderfully versatile and works equally well as an aperitif or at the table. It pairs especially well with oysters, shellfish, delicate fish, roast chicken, and soft cheeses; serve chilled at 8–10°C. Decanting is not recommended, but allowing the bottle to rest a few minutes after opening can help the aromas fully unfold.
