Production
The fruit comes from the Leiwener Klostergarten vineyard in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, where steep, slate-influenced slopes and a cool climate favour Riesling with pronounced freshness and precision. Eiswein is produced from grapes left on the vine until they freeze naturally, allowing water within the berries to crystallise and leaving behind highly concentrated juice when the grapes are pressed. The 1985 wine was made from Riesling and bottled in the traditional 0.75 litre format, finished with a distinctive gold capsule.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its concentrated sweetness and lively acidity make it a natural partner for fruit-based desserts, peach or apricot pastries, crème brûlée and blue or richly matured cheeses.
