Description
Cos d'Estournel Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru Classé is one of Bordeaux’s most distinctive reds, combining power, precision, and a signature exotic character that has made the estate famous for generations. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, it reflects the elegance of Saint-Estèphe while carrying the pedigree and history of one of the Médoc’s most celebrated châteaux.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2023 vintage shows an intense ruby-red color that signals both concentration and freshness. The nose opens with ripe plum and wild strawberry, layered with notes of tobacco and licorice that add depth and complexity.
On the palate, the wine is full of energy and structure, with impressive depth and a long, exotic finish that sets it apart. The blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon’s frame, Merlot’s roundness, and Cabernet Franc’s aromatic lift, suggesting excellent aging potential over the coming years.
Production
Produced in Saint-Estèphe in Bordeaux, the wine comes from a prestigious terroir shaped by gravelly soils and the maritime influence of the Gironde estuary, which help balance ripeness with freshness. The blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc is carefully vinified to preserve fragrance, structure, and the estate’s hallmark complexity.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with classic roast lamb, grilled ribeye, beef tenderloin, duck breast, and dishes with earthy mushroom or truffle accents. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and structure to open fully.

Château Cos d’Estournel is one of the great names of Bordeaux, long admired for its original style, ambitious vision, and status as a Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Estèphe.
