Description

Pol Roger Brut Réserve is one of Champagne’s most admired non-vintage styles, prized for its balance, finesse, and consistent house character. Blending Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier, it offers a classic expression of Champagne with elegant depth and precision. Pol Roger has long been associated with refinement and has earned iconic status among Champagne lovers worldwide.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright pale gold color with a lively, persistent mousse. The nose is clean and inviting, with notes of pear, green apple, citrus blossom, brioche, and a subtle touch of toasted nuts and vanilla. On the palate, it is fresh and well-structured, combining crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, and a fine creamy texture with a dry, elegant finish. The wine’s balance and complexity make it enjoyable now, while its structure and depth also give it the ability to hold beautifully for a few years in bottle. It remains a benchmark for harmonious, food-friendly Champagne.

Production
Pol Roger Brut Réserve is crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Champagne region. The style reflects the chalky soils and cool climate of Champagne, which help preserve freshness, acidity, and aromatic precision. The wine is made using traditional Champagne vinification methods, with secondary fermentation in bottle and extended aging on the lees to build texture, complexity, and refinement.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is exceptionally versatile at the table and pairs beautifully with oysters, scallops, sushi, fried seafood, roast chicken, and light creamy dishes. It also works well with fine charcuterie and mild cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended.

Producer
Founded in 1849, Pol Roger is a prestigious Champagne house known for its elegance, consistency, and traditional craftsmanship. Based in Épernay, the house is respected for producing wines with a distinctive house style marked by freshness, finesse, and depth. Pol Roger has received international acclaim over many decades and remains one of the most admired names in Champagne.

They say Christmas lasts right up until Easter, so in my view New Year lasts all through January too. So why not hold your own New Year reception here in the middle of the month? Champagne is not just for grand celebrations, especially not this crisp classic from Pol Roger. It's good with oysters too, just saying ;-)
