Description

Château Latour 2009 is one of Pauillac’s most celebrated modern vintages, offering the depth, structure, and precision collectors expect from a First Growth. Sourced from one of Bordeaux’s most iconic estates, it combines the power of the Left Bank with remarkable purity and refinement.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-garnet core, hinting at its concentration and long life ahead. The nose is layered and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and subtle notes of violets, earth, and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dense, and impeccably structured, with firm yet polished tannins framing rich dark fruit, mineral tension, and savory undertones. The finish is long and persistent, with excellent balance and freshness. While already impressive, it has the concentration and acidity to age gracefully for decades, continuing to evolve beautifully over the long term.

Production
Château Latour comes from the southern edge of Pauillac, overlooking the Gironde estuary, where gravelly soils and excellent drainage help produce intensely structured Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines. The estate typically relies on careful parcel selection and precise harvesting at optimal ripeness, with vinification designed to preserve purity, concentration, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
Best served at 16–18°C, ideally after several hours in a decanter to allow the wine to open fully. It pairs beautifully with premium cuts of beef, lamb, game, truffle dishes, and slow-braised meats, as well as aged hard cheeses.

Producer
Château Latour is one of Bordeaux’s most legendary estates and was classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification. Renowned for producing some of the most powerful, ageworthy wines in Pauillac, the estate has built an outstanding reputation for consistency, precision, and longevity, making it a benchmark for Left Bank Bordeaux.
