Description

Jacquesson Cuvée 747 is a benchmark grower Champagne that showcases the house’s precise, terroir-driven style and commitment to quality over sheer volume. Known for its elegance, depth, and distinctive expression of the Champagne region, it has become one of the most sought-after cuvées among Champagne lovers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is layered and refined, offering notes of citrus zest, white flowers, fresh orchard fruit, and subtle brioche, with chalky mineral tones adding clarity and lift. On the palate, it is dry, focused, and beautifully structured, balancing ripe fruit with vibrant acidity and a creamy texture. The finish is long and saline, with impressive precision. Thanks to its structure and concentration, Cuvée 747 can be enjoyed now or cellared for further complexity over the next several years.

Production
Jacquesson is known for sourcing from carefully selected vineyard parcels across Champagne, with an emphasis on quality fruit and transparent expression of terroir. The cuvée is crafted using a meticulous vinification approach aimed at preserving freshness, purity, and nuance, resulting in a Champagne that feels both expressive and finely tuned.

Food & Serving
Ideal with oysters, sashimi, shellfish, roast poultry, or aged hard cheeses, Jacquesson Cuvée 747 is versatile at the table thanks to its freshness and depth. Serve chilled at around 8-10°C, and decanting is not necessary, though allowing a few minutes in the glass can help it раскры its full aromatic profile.

Producer
Jacquesson is one of Champagne’s most respected historic houses, founded in 1798 and widely admired for its move toward more terroir-focused, low-intervention winemaking. Under the stewardship of the Chiquet family, the house has earned a strong reputation for producing some of the region’s most characterful and collectible wines.

A champagne from the Chiquet family. Jacquesson 747 is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay. This cuvée has the 2019 base vintage, a year that was difficult for Chardonnay grapes as they were damaged by frost, resulting in a wine with more Pinot grapes and a fuller style, partly thanks to barrel aging.

Another “house champagne” in my cart, and it never fails.

This can even be served with fish and shellfish for the holidays upon us.

Fresh, well balanced with the bubbles and richness. Not too sweet nor dry, at least in my opinion.
