Tasting Notes
Deep and dark in the glass, this vintage shows remarkable concentration and a luxurious, almost regal presence. The bouquet is layered with blackberry, blueberry, spice, liquorice, leather, and truffle, unfolding slowly with aeration. On the palate, it combines muscle with elegance: Mourvèdre brings depth, tannic backbone, and dark fruit, while Grenache and Syrah add richness, perfume, and balance. The finish is very long, echoing with ripe fruit and earthy complexity. It has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully for many years.

Made in the Rhône, in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this wine reflects Beaucastel’s celebrated terroir of galets roulés, limestone, clay, and well-drained soils that encourage concentration and freshness. The blend is dominated by Mourvèdre in this outstanding 2010 vintage, supported by Grenache, Syrah, and a small amount of Counoise, with careful harvesting and traditional vinification preserving the wine’s depth and character.

Best enjoyed with rich, flavourful dishes such as slow-roasted lamb, game, beef cheeks, or truffle-based cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for several hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully and soften its tannins.
