Zenato, Santa Cristina Lugana Vigneto Massoni 2025 White

Zenato Santa Cristina Lugana Vigneto Massoni is an elegant, refined white wine from one of the finest vineyard sites in the Lugana region. Made from the area’s traditional white grape, it combines ripe citrus fruit and delicate nutty nuances with a rounded, polished texture. It reflects more than 60 years of Zenato family winemaking on the southern shores of Lake Garda.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, inviting appearance and an expressive bouquet led by mature lemon and other citrus aromas, complemented by notes of pineapple and a subtle, lightly nutty character. On the palate, it is both powerful and graceful, with generous fruit, a soft mouthfeel and moderate acidity that gives the wine a rounded, approachable impression. This Lugana is enjoyable in its youth, when its fruit and freshness are at their most vibrant, but its concentration and balance allow it to develop additional complexity over the short to medium term when carefully stored.

Production
The Vigneto Massoni vineyard forms part of Zenato’s Santa Cristina estate in San Benedetto, where approximately 40 hectares lie among the prime parcels of the Lugana appellation. Excellent sun exposure, well-suited soils, adequate rainfall and relatively cool night-time temperatures help the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. Specific harvesting and vinification details are not provided, but the resulting wine clearly expresses the site’s ability to produce structured, elegant white wines.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its ripe citrus character, soft texture and restrained acidity make it a natural match for freshwater fish, shellfish, grilled prawns, seafood pasta, risotto and delicate poultry dishes. It can be enjoyed without decanting; opening the bottle shortly before serving is sufficient, although a brief period in the glass will allow its fruity and nutty aromas to unfold.

Zenato was founded more than 60 years ago, when Sergio Zenato planted the family’s first vines in San Benedetto. Today, his children Alberto and Nadia continue the family vision across around 95 hectares, producing both white and red wines in Veneto. The Santa Cristina estate is particularly associated with high-quality Lugana based on the local white grape, while the family’s Costalunga estate in Valpolicella is known for its red wines, including Amarone. Zenato’s Vigneto Massoni is regarded as one of the estate’s most elegant and distinguished Lugana wines.
