At this early stage, the wine is expected to show a luminous golden hue that deepens with time. On the palate, the style is typically luxurious yet controlled, combining concentration and sweetness with vibrant acidity and a long, refined finish. Production
Produced in Sauternes, Bordeaux, Yquem’s vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate where morning mists from the nearby Ciron and Garonne rivers encourage botrytis cinerea, the noble rot essential to the style. Harvesting is carried out by hand in multiple selective passes, picking only perfectly concentrated grapes. Vinification is done with meticulous care to preserve the estate’s precision, purity, and textural depth.

This wine pairs beautifully with foie gras, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, fruit-based desserts, tarte Tatin, and delicate pastry preparations. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally unnecessary for young vintages, though older bottles may benefit from gentle aeration.
