Sourced from 34-year-old vines on granitic decomposed soils and crafted with impressive precision, it combines site-driven elegance with the depth and finesse that make great Spätburgunder so compelling.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vibrant, polished Pinot profile with an inviting red-to-dark berry character. The nose is expressive and layered, offering dark forest fruits, warm spice, noble tobacco and seamlessly integrated oak. On the palate, it begins supple and juicy before gaining subtle structure and depth from the barrel ageing. The wine has a refined, quietly powerful feel, with good freshness, fine tannins and the kind of balance that suggests both immediate appeal and the ability to develop further over the next few years.

Production
The grapes come from west-facing slopes in Fürstenlager, where 34-year-old vines are rooted in weathered granite soils with around 30% incline, helping to create concentration and freshness. The fruit was carefully hand-harvested, then spontaneously fermented with about 70% whole clusters to build aromatic complexity and texture. It matured for 12 months in barrique barrels, split between 50% new oak and 50% second- and third-fill, underwent malolactic fermentation during élevage, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered in April 2024.

Food & Serving
This Spätburgunder pairs beautifully with roasted duck, game birds, mushroom dishes, grilled veal, or earthy vegetarian plates such as beetroot risotto or truffle pasta. Serve it slightly cool at around 15–17°C, and decanting is optional but can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
