Tasting Notes
The wine opens with a bright, pale appearance and a refined nose of citrus, apricot and ripe orchard fruit. On the palate, juicy apple and exotic fruit are supported by lively acidity, creating a harmonious balance between sweetness and freshness. The finish is aromatic, clean and refreshing, making the wine especially approachable in its youth while offering the structure to develop further over the short to medium term.

Production
The estate is located in Johannisberg in the Rheingau, close to the 50th parallel, where the region’s climate and vineyard conditions are particularly well suited to Riesling. The grapes are gently pressed after harvest, and fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. This careful, reductive approach helps preserve the wine’s fresh fruit character and delicate aromatic profile.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its combination of gentle sweetness and fresh acidity makes it a versatile partner for lightly spiced Asian cuisine, sushi, seafood, poultry, fresh salads and soft cheeses. Decanting is not necessary; simply allow the wine a few minutes in the glass to reveal its citrus and fruit aromas.

Based in Johannisberg, Weingut Prinz von Hessen is regarded as one of Germany’s important Riesling producers. The estate has been a member of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) since its foundation, reflecting its long-standing commitment to quality and provenance. Around 95% of its vineyards are devoted to Riesling, and the winery’s wines have received recognition both in Germany and internationally.
