Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant, luminous golden tone that hints at its concentration and sweetness. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe apricot, candied citrus peel, quince, beeswax, saffron, nutmeg, and fresh lime blossom, all lifted by a distinct mineral edge. On the palate, it is rich and succulent yet never heavy, with silky texture and superb tension. The sweetness is beautifully framed by Mosel acidity, giving the wine clarity, freshness, and length. While already highly enjoyable now, it has excellent aging potential and should evolve gracefully for many years, gaining further complexity and nuance.

Production
Zeltinger Sonnenuhr is a classic Mosel steep-slope site with blue slate soils that help give the wine its signature mineral intensity and elegance. The cool climate allows Riesling to ripen slowly, preserving freshness while developing concentrated fruit and fine aromatic detail. As an Auslese*** Fruchtsüss, this wine is made from carefully selected fully ripe grapes, typically harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is chosen, then vinified with great precision to retain balance, purity, and natural sweetness.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for fruit-based desserts, tarte Tatin, apricot tart, or delicate pastries, but it also shines alongside blue cheese, foie gras, or spicy Asian dishes where sweetness and acidity can play off the food beautifully. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief airing in the glass can help the aromatics open further.
