Description
Weingut Leth Zweigelt Rosé 2024 is a fresh, lively rosé from one of Wagram’s most respected family-run wineries. Made from carefully selected Zweigelt grapes, it combines vibrant red-berry and cherry character with an elegant, easy-drinking style—ideal for sunny terraces, aperitifs and relaxed dining. Founded in 1960, Weingut Leth was welcomed into the prestigious Traditionsweingüter Österreich association in 2015, recognising its consistent commitment to quality.
Tasting Notes
Bright and appealing in the glass, this rosé offers a colourful pink hue. The aroma is expressive and fruit-forward, with notes of ripe red berries and juicy cherries. On the palate, it is fresh, supple and well balanced, combining lively acidity with a succulent blend of berry fruit and cherry. Its energetic, refreshing character makes it best enjoyed young, while the 2024 vintage is at its most vibrant soon after release.
Production
The Zweigelt grapes come from vineyards around Fels in the Wagram region, where deep loess soils provide favourable conditions for expressive, fruit-driven wines. The healthy, fully ripened grapes are harvested with care and pressed pneumatically shortly after arriving at the winery. After approximately 12 hours of settling, only the clear must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, preserving the wine’s freshness and bright fruit character. It is clarified and bottled within a few weeks of fermentation.
Food & Serving
Enjoy this versatile rosé well chilled at around 8–10°C. It is excellent as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with light summer dishes, salads, grilled vegetables, poultry, cold cuts and seafood. No decanting is necessary; simply chill, open and serve.
Producer
Weingut Leth is a family-owned estate established in 1960 and based in Fels, approximately 50 kilometres east of Vienna. The winery has grown into one of the leading producers in Wagram, a region particularly known for its deep loess soils and expressive wines. Around half of the Leth family’s vineyards are planted with Grüner Veltliner, while the estate’s broader portfolio reflects a careful focus on terroir and quality. Its admission to Traditionsweingüter Österreich in 2015 marked an important recognition of the winery’s standing in Austrian wine.
