Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Riesling shows a rich, almost oily texture with a luminous golden hue. The bouquet is highly expressive, opening with mango, peach, honey, raisins, and a subtle herbal edge that gives the wine freshness and lift. On the palate, it is decadent yet beautifully balanced: sweetness comes first, but a vibrant line of acidity keeps everything poised and refined. The finish is long, layered, and complex, with enough structure to suggest excellent aging potential over many years, during which it should develop even deeper honeyed and petrol-driven nuances.

Production
The wine comes from the steep Zellerberg slopes in the Mosel, where extreme inclines and slate-rich soils create ideal conditions for Riesling. The fruit is harvested by hand at maximum ripeness, a necessity in this rugged terrain and a hallmark of careful Auslese production. Christian Lenhardt’s approach combines traditional Mosel craftsmanship with broader winemaking experience, resulting in a wine that emphasizes purity, concentration, and balance.

Food & Serving
This Auslese is an excellent match for strong cheeses, foie gras, fruit-based desserts, and dark chocolate dishes. It is also lovely on its own as a contemplative wine. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief opening in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic range.

Weingut Lenhardt is a rising name in the Mosel, led by siblings Christian and Eva Lenhardt, who revived the family estate and released their first vintage in 2017. Their vineyards trace back to their great-grandparents, the family’s first winegrowers, and the estate’s identity is rooted in the historic steep slopes of Blattenberg and Zellerberg. After gaining experience abroad in regions such as Bordeaux, Portugal, and New Zealand, the Lenhardts returned with a fresh perspective, quickly earning attention from critics for the quality and energy of their wines.
