Tasting Notes
The wine pours a bright, pale gold. Its bouquet reveals ripe apple, citrus and delicate stone-fruit aromas, complemented by subtle wood nuances and a distinctly mineral character. On the palate, it is dry, fresh and structured, with lively acidity balanced by a gentle creaminess on the finish. The 2018 vintage is drinking beautifully now, while its structure and mineral backbone allow it to develop further complexity over the next few years when well stored.

Production
The vineyards are planted on the steep, mineral-rich Opok soils characteristic of Gamlitz, which contribute freshness, tension and a stony complexity. Hannes Sabathi combines modern precision with a clear focus on terroir, fermenting the Chardonnay in stainless-steel tanks and partly in wooden barrels. The wine is then matured on its fine lees, with a portion remaining in wood to build texture and complexity while preserving its vibrant freshness.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for poultry, veal and fish served with creamy sauces, this Chardonnay also complements grilled shellfish and refined vegetarian dishes. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but a brief 15–20 minutes of aeration can help reveal its mineral depth and subtle oak character.
