Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine is bright and clear, with a pale straw-gold hue. The nose is expected to show classic Riesling aromas of citrus, white peach, green apple and delicate floral notes, complemented by the stony, mineral nuances typical of Loibenberg. On the palate, it is precise and energetic, balancing ripe orchard and citrus fruit with refreshing acidity and a long, mineral finish. The wine’s concentration allows it to be enjoyed young, while its structure and freshness should also support several years of bottle development, with additional complexity emerging over time.

Production
The grapes come from the steep, hand-worked terraces of Ried Loibenberg in the Wachau, where warm, sun-exposed slopes help Riesling achieve ripeness while retaining its characteristic freshness. F.X. Pichler farms these challenging sites with great attention to detail and strict grape selection. Fermentation takes place under temperature-controlled conditions in stainless-steel tanks, preserving the wine’s clarity, aromatic precision and site expression.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. This Riesling is an excellent match for freshwater fish, shellfish, sushi, lightly spiced Asian dishes, poultry and creamy goat’s cheese. It can be enjoyed without decanting, although a brief period in the glass—or a short decant for a young bottle—can help reveal its mineral depth and aromatic detail.
