Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby colour that immediately signals concentration. The nose is layered and expressive, with blackberries, cherries, tobacco, forest floor, and dark chocolate leading the way. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, driven by dark fruit, firm tannins, and a sense of power balanced by polished elegance. It already offers plenty of complexity, but its backbone suggests excellent ageing potential over many years, during which it will continue to gain nuance and finesse.

Production
Heydenreich is a prized vineyard site with limestone-rich subsoil and heavy clay topsoil, a combination that gives the wine both mineral tension and generous fruit concentration. All vineyard work is done by hand, and yields are kept naturally low to ensure maximum flavour intensity and character in the grapes. Fermentation takes place over three weeks in open vats, followed by 18 months of maturation in small German and French oak barrels.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a superb match for roast duck, game birds, beef fillet, venison, and dishes with mushroom or truffle accents. It also pairs beautifully with rich vegetarian plates such as wild mushroom risotto or lentil-based mains. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young to help the aromas open fully.
