Description
Tutto Beny Weiß Bio 2023 is Bastian Beny’s signature white cuvée – the wine with which he first set off on his own path, away from family traditions and toward his own style. Crafted from organically grown Riesling, Chardonnay and Silvaner in Rheinhessen, it’s a quietly expressive, artisanal white that balances precision with charm. Low-intervention in the cellar and carefully judged use of wood give this wine a character that feels both thoughtfully modern and deeply rooted in place.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Tutto Beny Weiß Bio 2023 shows a pale straw to light lemon hue with a gentle, almost silky shimmer from its extended lees aging. The nose is understated yet detailed: delicate apple and pear, meadow hay, a hint of citrus zest and subtle earthy nuances, with the oak sitting elegantly in the background rather than taking center stage.
On the palate, the wine is finely structured and harmonious, combining the linear freshness of Riesling, the gentle creaminess of Chardonnay and the herbal-juicy nuance of Silvaner. A soft, lees-derived texture wraps around a bright, precise core of fruit, with a light creaminess that never feels heavy. The finish is clean, slightly salty and persistent, inviting another sip rather than overwhelming the palate. Enjoy it now for its vibrancy and tension, or over the next 3–5 years as the earthy and hay-like notes gain further complexity.
Production
The grapes for Tutto Beny Weiß Bio 2023 come from organically farmed vineyards in Rheinhessen, where gentle slopes, mixed soils and a mild, sunny climate provide ideal conditions for expressive white wines. All three varieties – Riesling, Chardonnay and Silvaner – were harvested by hand to ensure only healthy, perfectly ripe bunches made it into the cellar. Fermentation took place spontaneously with native yeasts in wooden barrels, followed by 12 months of maturation on the full lees, which adds depth and texture. Sulphur was used only minimally and only shortly before bottling, and the wine was bottled solely by gravity, in keeping with a low‑intervention philosophy that aims to preserve the purity and energy of the fruit.
Food & Serving
Tutto Beny Weiß Bio 2023 is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with simply prepared fish, grilled or roasted poultry, seasonal vegetable dishes, mild cheeses and modern, vegetable-led cuisine. It will shine alongside dishes like herb-roasted chicken, trout with lemon and herbs, asparagus with hollandaise, or a risotto with spring vegetables. Serve at 8–10 °C to highlight its freshness and fine structure; a light splash into a carafe or a few minutes in the glass is enough aeration to let the subtle earthy and hay notes unfold.
Producer
Weingut Frank Beny is a family-run estate in Rheinhessen, where the next generation, led by Bastian Beny, has brought a fresh, independent voice to the region’s white wines. With Tutto Beny Weiß, Bastian deliberately stepped out from the shadow of established family traditions to create a cuvée that reflects his own ideas: organic farming, precise craftsmanship and a distinctly low‑intervention approach. The estate is part of a new wave of Rheinhessen producers focusing on terroir expression, careful handwork in the vineyard and minimal manipulation in the cellar, helping to underscore the region’s reputation as one of Germany’s most dynamic sources of high-quality, characterful wines.
