Weinberghof Fritsch, Grüner Veltliner Wagram, 2025

Weinberghof Fritsch’s 2025 Grüner Veltliner is a juicy, dry and refreshing expression of Wagram, combining ripe fruit with lively acidity and a distinctive mineral edge. Made from biodynamically certified, hand-harvested grapes, it offers an inviting taste of the region’s characteristic loess soils.

Tasting Notes
The open, fruit-filled nose brings together pear, ripe yellow stone fruit and freshly squeezed lime, with a subtle hint of white pepper. On the palate, the wine is light and supple, with refreshing acidity and vibrant minerality. Green orchard fruit and lime are joined by peach, mint and gentle spice, leading into a juicy, mouth-watering finish. Its fresh, lively character is best enjoyed while young.

Production
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Oberstockstall, Wagram, where southeast-facing slopes, vines up to 43 years old and the region’s characteristic loess soils shape the fruit. The wine is biodynamically certified (BIODYN), with hand harvesting and naturally occurring yeasts as part of the producer’s low-intervention approach. A short maceration helps draw out aroma and flavour before gentle pressing, and fermentation and maturation take place exclusively in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit.

Food & Serving
Enjoy it on its own on the terrace, or serve alongside light fish dishes and crisp salads. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary for this fresh, youthful white.
