Wayfarer Estate Pinot Noir Mother Rock 2022 is a beautifully expressive California Pinot Noir that pays tribute to the sandstone-rich soils of the Wayfarer Vineyard. Crafted by winemaker Bibiana González Rave from clones 37 and Dijon 777, it leans into vivid red-fruit character and the elegance that has made Wayfarer one of the standout names in American Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color, hinting at both ripeness and finesse. The nose is inviting and layered, opening with fresh strawberries, red cherries, violets, rhubarb, mint, and a subtle truffle note. The palate brings those aromas back in a polished, flavorful wave, with raspberry, dark plum, and a touch of spice adding depth and energy. It finishes long and graceful, with the kind of persistence that makes it immediately enjoyable now while also suggesting excellent aging potential over the coming years.

Production
Mother Rock comes from Wayfarer Vineyard in California, where the sandstone-rich soils play a key role in shaping the wine’s aromatic lift and refined structure. The grapes were harvested and sorted by hand, fully destemmed before pressing, then fermented and aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 67% of which were new, giving the wine added texture and complexity without overpowering its fruit.
