Von Winning’s Weisser Burgunder 2024 is a bright, elegant take on Germany’s answer to Pinot Blanc, shaped by the cool freshness and aromatic lift of the Pfalz. Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass, this wine opens with a generous, open nose of white-fleshed fruit and a clean, fragrant brightness. Think pear, yellow plum, ripe apple, and a delicate hint of citrus, all wrapped in a fresh, polished aromatic profile. The palate is lively and well balanced, with a fine interplay between crisp acidity and a gentle touch of sweetness that adds softness without losing definition. It shows mature white fruit, pear, and yellow stone fruit through a smooth, mildly dry finish. Best enjoyed young for its vibrancy, though it should hold its charm over the next few years as its harmony and texture continue to develop.

Production
The grapes come from the Haardt slopes in the Pfalz, where the region’s warm sun and cool summer nights help preserve freshness while building aromatic intensity. This combination of terroir gives the wine its expressive fruit character and its elegant, refined structure. Vinification is geared toward a light-footed, fruit-driven style, with an emphasis on retaining natural acidity and purity of flavor.

Food & Serving
An excellent aperitif, this Weisser Burgunder also works beautifully with smoked haddock, salmon with white asparagus, and soft bloomy-rind cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to let its freshness and subtle fruit show at their best. Decanting is not necessary.
