Vite Colte’s Gavi di Gavi Masseria dei Carmelitani is a classic expression of one of Piedmont’s most admired white wines, made from Cortese grapes grown in the historic heart of the Gavi zone. Known for its purity, freshness, and elegant structure, it captures the traditional style that has made Gavi di Gavi such a benchmark for refined Italian whites.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow colour with subtle green highlights, hinting at its youthful freshness. The nose is generous and expressive, with aromas of white flowers, citrus, lily of the valley, vanilla, and a distinctive note of bitter apple. The palate is dry, rounded, and beautifully balanced, with a pleasing fullness carried by lively acidity. It finishes crisp and elegant, with enough structure to give it good short- to mid-term aging potential while remaining at its best for fresh drinking.

Production
The Cortese grapes come from vineyards in the original Gavi area, where firm limestone-rich soils and a cool climate help preserve the variety’s naturally high acidity and delicate aromatic profile. The bunches are gently pressed and fermented at 15–16°C over around 10 days, a careful vinification that protects freshness and precision before the wine is matured in bottle to develop texture and the traditional character of Gavi di Gavi.

Food & Serving
Excellent as an aperitif, this wine also pairs beautifully with hors d’oeuvres, fish, shellfish, and seafood soups. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C to highlight its freshness and aromatic lift, and decanting is not necessary.
