Vite Colte Barolo del Comune di Barolo Essenze is a classic expression of Nebbiolo from one of Piedmont’s most celebrated communes. Crafted from 100% Nebbiolo and aged for 24 months in small oak barrels, it offers the depth, structure, and perfume that have made Barolo one of Italy’s most revered wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red color with garnet reflections, hinting at the evolution to come. The nose is intense and highly complex, with lifted notes of violet, tar, and vanilla layered over ripe dark fruit. On the palate, it is dry, warm, and full-bodied, with firm structure, polished richness, and a long finish marked by mature black and red fruit alongside a distinctive balsamic character. This is a wine with excellent aging potential. While already expressive, it will continue to develop greater nuance, softness, and tertiary complexity with further bottle age.

Production
Sourced from Barolo DOCG in Piedmont, the wine reflects the exceptional terroir of the Comune di Barolo, where Nebbiolo reaches remarkable aromatic precision and structure. After harvest, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation with skin maceration for around 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is then matured in small oak casks for 24 months and rested for an additional 6 months in bottle before release.

Food & Serving
This Barolo is an ideal match for rich dishes such as braised beef, truffle risotto, game, roasted lamb, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16-18°C to allow its aromas and structure to unfold fully. Decanting for at least 1-2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoying it young.
