Vinícola del Priorat Clos Gebrat Blanc 2024 captures the character of Priorat in a refined, oak-aged white wine. Its combination of ripe orchard fruit, Mediterranean freshness, mineral depth and subtle barrel influence makes it a distinctive expression of the region’s steep, slate-covered vineyards. Vinícola del Priorat traces its cooperative roots back to 1917, bringing together generations of growers from four local villages.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a pale yellow colour with attractive golden highlights. On the nose, ripe white fruit and apricot are complemented by fresh citrus and a subtle floral note, while oak ageing adds creamy, gently nutty nuances. On the palate, flavours of pear and apple mingle with toasted almond and a delicate touch of vanilla. Silky in texture, the wine is supported by characteristic Priorat minerality and finishes long, fresh and lightly saline. Its balance and structure allow it to develop further in bottle over the short to medium term, although it is already approachable in its youth.

Production
The grapes come from more than 210 hectares of steeply sloping vineyards rooted in Priorat’s distinctive llicorella slate soils, under a Mediterranean climate that promotes concentration and freshness. They are harvested by hand before undergoing alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged for six months in oak barrels on its fine lees, contributing added creaminess, texture and subtle toasted complexity.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for grilled or roasted fish, shellfish, seafood risotto, roast poultry and creamy pasta dishes. Its mineral, lightly saline finish also works well with fresh goat’s cheese and lightly spiced Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but a brief period of aeration in a carafe can help reveal its oak, fruit and mineral nuances.

Vinícola del Priorat is a well-established cooperative in the hilly Priorat region, founded in 1917 by growers from four villages. Today, it brings together around 140 families who care for vineyards on the area’s demanding slate slopes. The cooperative combines traditional knowledge with modern cultivation techniques and a strong commitment to sustainability, producing wines that reflect Priorat’s distinctive terroir while respecting its natural environment and winemaking heritage.
