Viñedos de Alfaro’s Conde del Real Agrado Crianza 2020 is a generous Rioja red that combines the juicy character of Garnacha with the structure and savoury depth of Tempranillo. Aged for 14 months in a blend of American and French oak, it offers an approachable style with ripe berry fruit, gentle toast and a fresh, spicy finish.

Tasting Notes
The wine has a clear, attractive purplish-red colour. On the nose, aromas of red and black berries are complemented by subtle toasted notes and hints of cocoa. The palate is full-bodied yet friendly and well balanced, with inviting fruit, smooth oak influence and a refreshing, spicy finish. Enjoyable now, it should develop further over the next few years while retaining its vibrant fruit character.

Production
The grapes come from the La Lobera and Las Planes vineyards in Rioja, where clay-and-limestone soils contribute freshness, structure and balanced ripeness. The blend is composed of 50% Garnacha and 50% Tempranillo. Following vinification, the wine matures for 14 months in oak barrels, with 80% American oak and 20% French oak, allowing the fruit to integrate with delicate toasted and cocoa-like nuances.

Food & Serving
A versatile partner for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb chops and a selection of Spanish tapas. Its generous fruit and lively finish also make it a natural match for grilled sausages, mature cheeses and savoury dishes with paprika or herbs. Serve slightly chilled, around 15–16°C, as recommended for this Crianza. Decanting is not essential, although 20–30 minutes of aeration can help open the aromas and soften the oak influence.
