Description
Vincent Pinard’s Sancerre Grand Chemarin 2023 is a precise, terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire Valley’s most respected producers. Sourced from a prized Sancerre site, it combines freshness, mineral tension, and remarkable purity, showcasing the kind of elegant white wine that has made this region famous for centuries.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright pale straw color with green highlights, reflecting its youthful energy and freshness. The nose is lifted and expressive, with notes of citrus, white flowers, gooseberry, crushed herbs, and a distinct flinty, chalky mineral edge.
On the palate, it is crisp and focused, with vibrant acidity, a clean linear structure, and a silky yet precise texture. Flavors of lemon zest, pear, green apple, and subtle stone fruit are supported by saline minerality and a long, refreshing finish. While approachable young, it has the balance and concentration to develop nicely over several years in bottle.
Production
Grand Chemarin comes from a carefully selected Sancerre vineyard site in the Loire, where limestone and clay-rich soils help give the wine its tension, depth, and mineral signature. The grapes are typically harvested with close attention to ripeness and fruit health, then vinified to preserve purity and site expression, with an emphasis on gentle handling and cool fermentation.
Food & Serving
This wine is a natural match for oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat cheese, and fresh vegetable dishes. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and there is generally no need to decant unless you wish to open it up slightly after bottling.

Domaine Vincent Pinard is a highly regarded family estate in Sancerre, known for crafting refined, terroir-focused wines that consistently rank among the region’s best.
