Villa Loren Amarone della Valpolicella 2021 captures the generous, full-bodied character for which Veneto’s Valpolicella is renowned. Produced in the historic Amarone area between Venice and Lake Garda, it combines ripe fruit intensity with the freshness brought by the nearby Adriatic and the region’s cooling breezes.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Amarone is typically deep ruby to garnet in colour, reflecting its rich concentration. The nose is generous and expressive, with ripe dark berries, plums and cherries alongside hints of spice and dried fruit. On the palate, expect a full-bodied, warming style with concentrated fruit, supple tannins and a long, rounded finish. The 2021 vintage can be enjoyed now with decanting, while its structure and richness should allow it to develop further over the next several years when stored in suitable conditions.

Production
Villa Loren is dedicated to the grape varieties of Veneto and to expressing the character of Valpolicella, the historic birthplace of Amarone. Following destemming and crushing, the grapes undergo a period of cold maceration before fermentation. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and is followed by malolactic fermentation, helping to create a rounder, more harmonious wine. The area’s ample sunshine, proximity to the Adriatic Sea and refreshing breezes contribute to the balance between richness and freshness associated with the region.

Food & Serving
A natural match for robust dishes, this Amarone pairs well with beef, game and slow-cooked stews, including beef tenderloin, lamb, veal, rabbit, wild boar and venison. It also complements mature cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Vecchio and blue cheese. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. Decant for approximately 30–60 minutes before serving to allow the wine’s aromas and texture to open.
