Villa della Torre Valpolicella Classico 2021 combines the elegance of a historic estate with the fresh, approachable character of a modern Italian red. Tasting Notes
The wine shows a medium-intense ruby-red colour in the glass. On the nose, it offers inviting aromas of raspberry and ripe berries, complemented by delicate nuances of vanilla and spice from oak maturation. On the palate, it is harmonious and well balanced, with a firm yet pleasantly soft structure. Well-integrated tannins provide definition, while refreshing acidity carries the wine through to a persistent, clean finish. It is enjoyable now and should develop further over the next few years when stored properly.

Production
The wine is fermented for approximately 20 days in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature, allowing the fresh fruit character to remain expressive. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, which helps round the texture and balance the wine. Maturation takes place in barriques, contributing the subtle vanilla and spice notes evident on the nose and palate. Specific vineyard and harvesting details are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C after allowing the bottle to come gently to temperature. Villa della Torre Valpolicella Classico pairs well with antipasti, pasta with rich tomato or mushroom sauces, risotto, grilled meats, roast poultry and medium-mature cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but 20–30 minutes of aeration can help open the aromas, particularly when serving the wine young.

Villa della Torre is a historic estate with roots reaching back to an extraordinary Renaissance complex designed between the late 1440s and 1562 by Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli. Marilisa Allegrini acquired the property in 2008, and today the estate is developed as a wine and art resort, with the winery project led by her daughters, Carlotta and Caterina. The estate stands as one of the region’s notable examples of the meeting point between Italian wine, architecture and cultural heritage.
