Drawn from selected vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico and crafted by the historic Antinori family, it offers the kind of balance, structure, and regional identity that has made Chianti Riserva a benchmark style for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red colour. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe cherries, blackcurrants, and violets, rounded out by subtle notes of vanilla, tobacco, and spice. The palate is full-bodied yet elegant, with firm, silky tannins and fresh, lively acidity that keeps the wine feeling balanced and precise. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving hints of dark chocolate and toasted oak. This is a wine with very good aging potential, and it should continue to develop complexity over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico, where Tuscany’s hillside terroir and warm days balanced by cooler nights help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The blend is led by Sangiovese, complemented by smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to add structure and richness. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels, followed by additional bottle ageing. This combination of oak maturation and extended rest in bottle contributes to the wine’s depth, polish, and layered complexity.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for grilled lamb chops, ossobuco, or mature cheeses such as pecorino. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if you want the aromas and tannins to open up more fully.
