Description
Saint Baurois Grande Réserve Chardonnay 2025 is a fresh, characterful white wine from the Mediterranean surroundings of Narbonne in southern France. Made by the cooperative Vignerons du Narbonnais, it combines the accessible style of modern Languedoc winemaking with a strong commitment to preserving the region’s land, traditions and identity.
Tasting Notes
Bright and pale in appearance, this Chardonnay is expected to show the generous, sunny character of southern France while retaining a refreshing profile. The nose is likely to offer inviting aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus and delicate floral notes.
On the palate, look for a smooth, rounded texture balanced by lively freshness, with flavours of apple, pear and lemon leading to a clean finish. Best enjoyed young, the 2025 vintage is intended for immediate drinking rather than extended cellaring; enjoy it within the next couple of years while its fruit and freshness are at their most vibrant.
Production
The wine is produced from vineyards spread across the Narbonne area and the neighbouring villages of Ouveillan, Sallèles-d’Aude and Vinassan. Around 330 winegrowers work together under the Néotera banner, using sustainable practices that respect the soil, surrounding nature and local heritage. The cooperative combines contemporary cellar technology with traditional knowledge, although specific harvesting and vinification details for this cuvée have not been provided.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its fresh fruit and supple texture should pair well with grilled fish, shellfish, seafood salads, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes and fresh goat’s cheese. Decanting is not necessary; simply open shortly before serving or pour into a glass to allow the wine to reveal its aromas.
Producer
Vignerons du Narbonnais brings together growers from four communities near Narbonne, one of southern France’s historic wine-producing areas. Through the Néotera cooperative, the group focuses on producing accessible wines with regional character while safeguarding the unique landscape and traditions of the Narbonnais for future generations. Its sustainable approach and modern facilities support consistent quality across its range.
