Description
Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Champagne N.V. is a landmark rosé from one of Champagne’s most iconic houses, combining elegance, freshness, and the signature richness that has defined Veuve Clicquot for generations. First pioneering the commercial success of rosé Champagne in 1775, the house continues to set the standard with this expressive non-vintage cuvée, crafted to be both approachable and unmistakably refined.
Tasting Notes
Brilliantly luminous with a delicate pink hue, this rosé immediately catches the eye. The nose is generous and polished, opening with vibrant aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, and blackberry, before moving into more layered pastry-like notes of almond, dried apricot, and brioche.
On the palate, the wine is fresh on the attack, then unfolds into a harmonious and fruit-driven texture with notable balance and finesse. Its blend of structure, elegance, and creamy richness gives it real charm, while the layered reserve wines add depth and consistency. Enjoy now for its lively, seductive style; it has the balance to hold well over the short to medium term.
Production
This cuvée is built from grapes sourced across 50 to 60 different crus, with a base blend inspired by the house’s Brut Yellow Label style: 50–55% Pinot Noir, 15–20% Pinot Meunier, and 28–33% Chardonnay. A significant proportion of reserve wines, often 25–35% and sometimes as much as 40%, is incorporated to preserve the house style and add complexity, while 12% still red wine is added to provide color, balance, and the wine’s distinctive rosé character.
Food & Serving
An excellent match for salmon, tuna, duck breast, roasted poultry, charcuterie, and dishes with red berries or subtle spice. It also works beautifully as an aperitif or alongside refined canapés. Serve well chilled, ideally at 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended.
