Velenosi, Ninfa Rosso NV

Velenosi Ninfa Rosso NV is a refined Marche IGT red that brings together a careful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Montepulciano. First produced in 2019, it shows the modern, ambitious side of Marche winemaking, combining richness, structure, and elegance in one polished wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is deep and persistent, offering juicy blackcurrant and cherry, layered with notes of liquorice, graphite, black pepper, tobacco, and a subtle balsamic edge that adds complexity. On the palate, Ninfa is warm, elegant, and richly textured, with a generous mid-palate and soft, rounded tannins. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering fruit and spice. It has the structure to age well over the next several years, gaining further harmony and complexity with time.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards in the Marche region at 200–250 metres above sea level, planted on clay and limestone soils that help shape the wine’s depth and aromatic intensity. Harvest is carried out by hand in September and October, with each variety picked at its ideal ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes are vinified in small stainless steel tanks, with skin contact ranging from around 15 days for Merlot to 20–25 days for Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, and up to 30 days for Montepulciano. The wine is then matured for 18–24 months in new 300-litre barrels before resting for a further three months after bottling.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted meats, rich pasta dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to bring out its balance of fruit, spice, and oak. Decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if opened young, to allow the wine to खुलen and show its full aromatic range.
