Cantina Tramin’s Roen Gewurztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva is a beautifully expressive late-harvest dessert wine from the heart of South Tyrol. Crafted from Traminer Aromatico and Riesling, it captures the aromatic intensity, elegance, and mountain freshness that have made this Alpine region so distinctive for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a luminous golden hue with inviting depth and shine. The nose is intensely perfumed, with classic Gewurztraminer notes of rose petals, lychee, ripe stone fruit, exotic spice, and honeyed citrus, lifted by the fresh, precise character of Riesling. On the palate, this wine is rich and silky, yet balanced by vibrant acidity that keeps the sweetness lively rather than heavy. Expect layers of candied fruit, floral spice, and a long, graceful finish with a distinct Alpine freshness. Thanks to its structure and acidity, it should also age well, developing additional nuance and complexity over time.

Produced in Trentino-Alto Adige, in the mountainous landscape of South Tyrol, this wine reflects a terroir shaped by cool nights, sunny days, and mineral-rich soils that preserve aroma and freshness. The grapes come from a region where viticulture is deeply tied to local culture and the rhythms of mountain life. As a Vendemmia Tardiva, the fruit is harvested late to achieve greater concentration and aromatic richness before being carefully vinified to preserve purity and balance.

Serve this dessert wine lightly chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to best highlight its aromatics and freshness. It pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, panna cotta, blue cheese, foie gras, almond pastries, and spiced cakes. Decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass can help the aromas fully unfold.

Cantina Tramin is one of South Tyrol’s most respected cooperatives, founded in 1898 and built around the work of local winegrowers who have farmed these mountain vineyards for generations. Today, around 300 growers contribute to its wines, helping define the style and reputation of the region through a strong focus on quality, terroir expression, and aromatic precision. The estate is widely recognized for producing some of the most distinctive white wines in northern Italy.
