Tiraki, Ltd Longfield Farm Marlborough Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024

Tiraki’s 2024 Longfield Farm Marlborough Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a complex, concentrated expression of one of New Zealand’s most celebrated varieties. Hand-picked fruit, separate fermentation by clone and thoughtful use of whole clusters bring together purity, freshness and silky structure in a wine that reflects the character of its Marlborough vineyard.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in appearance, the wine opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, violets and cocoa. On the palate, layers of cherry, Doris plum and raspberry are complemented by subtle baking spices and an earthy nuance, adding depth and complexity. Silky tannins—typical of the Longfield Farm vineyard—frame the fruit beautifully, while the wine’s concentration and balanced oak suggest it can develop further over the next several years.

Production
The grapes were hand-picked and predominantly destemmed before fermentation in small, open fermenters. Each clone was fermented separately, with 20% whole bunches included in the Clone 5 fermentation to enhance freshness and vibrancy. The wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which were new, and was bottled without fining or filtration to preserve its texture and character.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 14–16°C. This elegant Pinot Noir pairs especially well with roast duck, herb-crusted lamb, mushroom dishes, wild poultry and charcuterie. Decanting is not essential, but a brief 20–30 minute decant can help open the wine’s floral, fruity and earthy aromas, particularly when enjoyed young.
