Production
The grapes for Teo Costa Barbera d’Alba Castellinaldo 2021 are sourced from hilly vineyards surrounding the village of Castellinaldo in Piemonte, where slopes of limestone and clay create an ideal terroir for Barbera. These calcareous clay soils provide both structure and fruit concentration, while the undulating landscape ensures good drainage and excellent sun exposure. The Costa family carefully tends the vines, harvesting at optimal ripeness to capture both intensity of fruit and vibrant acidity. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 18 months in new oak barrels, a regime chosen to enhance texture, add complexity and support the naturally high acidity of Barbera, resulting in a wine of notable depth, structure and finesse.

This Barbera d’Alba is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with lighter meat dishes such as roast pork, veal, grilled lamb chops and herb-roasted chicken. Its vibrant acidity and ample fruit also make it an excellent match for rich charcuterie, salumi, pâtés and aged, firm cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino.
