Tenute Lunelli Maso Montalto 2019 is an elegant, full-bodied red from Trentino, combining ripe mountain-grown fruit with refined oak character. Produced by the Lunelli family—also behind the renowned Ferrari Trento sparkling wines—it reflects the estate’s ambition to create still wines of depth, finesse and long ageing potential.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a brilliant ruby-red colour with attractive garnet hues. Its bouquet is powerful yet finely composed, offering notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry and other ripe berries, complemented by warm, spicy nuances from oak ageing. On the palate, Maso Montalto is generous and complex, with a pleasing warmth, vibrant fruit character and elegant, well-integrated tannins. The oak adds subtle spice and depth without overshadowing the fruit. Its structure and maturation suggest that it will develop further in bottle over the coming years, while already drinking beautifully with some aeration.

Production
Maso Montalto comes from Tenute Lunelli’s Trentino estate, where the Alpine-influenced climate helps preserve freshness while encouraging expressive, concentrated fruit. The wine is matured for at least 12 months in oak barrels, allowing the fruit, tannins and spicy wood notes to integrate. It then spends a minimum of 15 months in bottle before release, adding polish and complexity.

Food & Serving
This structured yet elegant red is a natural match for roasted and grilled red meats, venison, hearty pasta dishes, mushroom preparations and mature cheeses. Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended, particularly when enjoying the wine young, to open its aromas and soften the tannins.
