Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia is one of Italy’s most celebrated red wines, prized for its exceptional balance of power, elegance, and longevity. Tasting Notes
In the glass, Sassicaia 2020 shows a насыщенный red-purple hue with a distinctly bluish cast. The nose is deep and layered, with ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco, and refined toasted oak notes that are expected to knit together even more gracefully with age. The palate is all about concentration and precision: tightly packed dark berry fruit, a cool, mineral edge, and very fine, polished tannins. Despite its impressive structure, the wine already has enough ripeness to be approached young, though its true peak is typically reached after around 10 years in bottle. With the right cellaring, it should continue developing for several decades.

Production
Sassicaia comes from Tenuta San Guido’s estate in Bolgheri, on Tuscany’s coastal stretch where gravelly soils, excellent drainage, and the moderating influence of the sea create ideal conditions for Cabernet varieties. The grapes are harvested with careful selection, and vinification is carried out to preserve freshness, concentration, and the distinct cool-berried character that defines the wine.

Food & Serving
Sassicaia pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, game, lamb, and richly flavored dishes such as braised beef, wild mushrooms, or truffle-based recipes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for one to two hours if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic depth.
