Tasting Notes
Sassicaia 2020 shows a deep, refined color in the glass, with a polished and expressive nose that typically combines dark berries, cassis, cedar, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle floral and graphite notes. On the palate, it is layered and precise, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish that gives the wine both power and grace. The 2020 vintage is built to age beautifully, and Sassicaia will reward patience over many years in bottle. In youth it can be impressive for its balance and aromatic complexity, but with cellaring it develops greater depth, nuance, and harmony.

Production
Tenuta San Guido’s vineyards are spread across roughly 90 hectares and divided into numerous parcels with different soils, elevations, and sun exposures, allowing each site to contribute its own character. The winery vinifies the parcels separately in small stainless-steel tanks to preserve detail and complexity, followed by maturation in dedicated French oak barrels that lend structure and refinement while respecting the wine’s signature purity.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for premium beef, lamb, venison, game birds, and rich Tuscan-inspired dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina or slow-braised meats. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for one to two hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully.
